For its 6th edition, Décrocher la Lune has thought big!
Faithful to its tradition and a true citizen project initiated by Franco Dragone, the La Louvière urban opera wanted, once again, to involve a large number of amateur artists from the region in the show. This is how 650 volunteers, including 200 integrated into permanent so-called lunar companies, took part in 8 workshops and joined the 200 professional artists and technicians who, on stage or behind the scenes, participated in the event.
Sancho therefore set out on his conquest of the moon, accompanied by more than 300 clowns, singers, aerial dancers, tightrope walkers, stilt walkers and fantastic animals performing in breathtaking settings.
He also received help from 7 new friends. La Louvière had, in fact, in this exceptional year of Mons 2015 – European Capital of Culture, invited its 7 twin towns to imagine giants complicit with Sancho.
And if, all together, they took down the moon and found the sun, they also brought smiles to the 35,000 spectators present, happy to participate in this popular festival, as well as to the thousands of viewers who had the chance to follow the broadcast of the show live on television.
Luc PETIT succeeded in the crazy challenge of bringing together all these dreamlike characters in a surprising parade which transformed, for one evening, the city into a great joyful and colorful circus. Like an orchestra conductor, he brought to life a score mixing dance, theater, music and fireworks, adding a touch of humor.
A true living fresco thanks to all its local 6gurants who have become true artists over time, Décrocher la Lune has awakened hopes and illuminated hearts until the next meeting.
