A battlefield full of dreams and emotions this was Luc Petit’s and VO Communication’s vision of Inferno, the opening show for the commemorations of the 200th anniversary of the battle of Waterloo.
Drawing his inspiration from Victor Hugo’s poem “L’Expiation” (“The Expiation”) for the story and the set design, he transported the 12,000 spectators to the heart of the hell of war and the poetry of the performance.
On a stage 170 metres in length, 300 re-enactors, 50 horses and 150 artists recreated the apocalyptic atmosphere of Emperor Napoleon’s final battle.
